The Ghost Nebula

(IC 59 and 63)

IC 63, commonly known as the Ghost Nebula or the Ghost of Cassiopeia, is an emission and reflection nebula located approximately 550 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is shaped and illuminated by the intense ultraviolet radiation from the nearby blue-giant star Gamma Cassiopeiae (Navi), which is situated just a few light-years away, as seen as the big bright star in the photo. Situated just below that, is IC 59, another beautiful structure illuminated by the same star. I completed this with 7hrs of total integration time, in LRGB. Completed Oct 11th, 2026.
